SPORTS
The Canadian Kashubs love sports and promote their culture through sports. They compete in many multicultural sporting events such as Hockey, Golf & Curling. The name of their team is the Kashubian Griffins. Sporting the traditional Yellow & Black cultural colours and the Griffin crest representing the emblem of their culture. In Hockey they compete against three other cultures in the area. The Algonquins, the Irish, & the German cultures. In Golf they compete against the Irish, German & the French cultures. In Curling they compete against the Scottish, Irish, English, French, German, Wendish, & Polish cultures. Using sport to promote culture is a very good way to promote awareness of each other’s cultures and builds bridges and unities different ethnic communities and their people.

In 2010 – The Kashubian Griffins made Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Senator Kazimierz Kleina as honourary captains of all their sports teams. They proudly wear their Kashubian Griffins Team Jerseys. On the visit of the Prime Minister on May 13 2012 to Canada’s Kaszebe, the Kashubian Griffins Hockey Team presented the Prime Minister an autographed hockey stick by Manager Jerome Shulist and Coach Phil Skebo, and the Men’s and Women’s players.
